I am looking for a ride from Boise, Id to Eugene OR or Portland

Hi everyone,
I am looking to see if anyone is heading to Eugene or Portland OR on or about Jan 9-10 2009. I am actually traveling to do some work in Eugene, OR from Jan 11-21 setting up a new Lowes and I am in need of a ride. If you are heading to Portland I can catch a greyhound to Eugene for fairly cheap. If you are heading to Eugene that is even better. I can offer a great conversation and/or gas money if you are available. Please email me at amangielangomat@yahoo.com if available. I have some friends in the Eugene area I will be staying with while I am there.

-or-

I will also be looking for a ride from Eugene or Portland on Jan 22-23 back to Boise. Locations can vary, as I have no problem getting the rest of the way as long as I am somewhere close.

Thanks
Tom Cox

Boise Pillow Fight

Hi children of all ages. New to the official government holiday callender is the new World Pillow Fight Day. This year the event is on March 22, 2008 at exactly 3pm in front of city hall. This event has a few rules:

"+ Soft pillows only!
+ Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once.
+ Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras.
+ Remove glasses beforehand!
+ The event is free and appropriate for all ages.
+ Wait until the signal to begin.
+ This event is more fun with feathers!"

This event is open to as many people as possible. The fighting will go on for exactly 5 minutes and then everyone will walk away. The event is for people of all ages. Pass this on the any and everyone. No one will be excluded from this event. We are looking to have it filmed, so if anyone has a camera that can put it on Youtube that would be awesome. Please repost this anywere you can, we really want lots of people.

For more information call Tom at 208-377-0510 or email him at amangielangomat@yahoo.com.

(now not so impromptu) photography project

A small group of us have started meeting every (approximately) two weeks at the Flying M in downtown Boise. We met this first time on 1/17/08 for discussion and as a group assigned the single word "vintage" for a photo assignment. We then gathered again on 1/30/08 to share out work.

We decided to meet again on 2/13/08 at 7:30 at the Flying M~and the assigment is "(Pre-Valentines) Emotion". shoot towards that subject and bring one picture to share with the group. We give everyone the opportunity to tell a little about their thought proccess and how they shot the photo. Makes for a good venue of questions and answers, and a great way to meet others with a similar interest!

You are more than welcome to join us. Any skill level and any format is encouraged.
Hope to see ya there!

I've never been but I'm a good traveler/adventurer and am low maintenence and will have funds (not much but enough to get this done - ie, gas, food and that) Now is the time to be planing this I'm told

Hi, I am a single older female and considering a move to Boise Area, and a bicyclist. I mainly tour and distance ride. Not into mtn biking since back surgery......too hard for this old lady(ugh) I have been researching areas great for roadbiking, so I came upon Boise, and heard about the greenbelt. Are there other areas in which to distance ride, such as farmers fields, or just country where it is relatively flat and boonies? or is it mostly pretty congested, and hilly...... I can pretty much bike into the falls, and winters, but the heat is hard. Right now I live in the humidity of the south!

Also, when is the best time of year for me to visit, and maybe look into apartments, do the colleges around there pretty much govern the use and expenses of the apt in the areas? Like alot of other cities?

Also anyone know of the single scene there? or is it pretty much family oriented?

I would like to hear from anyone?
THANKS, K

The tribe is Colorado camping and surrounding areas. Idaho is included but also UT WY MT AZ NM and CO. This tribe is for us to share and ask advice about these places from people who know about them.

I love camping and hiking and about anything in nature. Please come share Idaho with us cause I know it is one of the most beautiful states and we need it represented for when we come to your area and maybe we can help you when you come to ours.
